Descrição
9YF-2200 / 1900 / 1700 Square Baler
High-density square baling for wheat straw, rice straw, corn straw and forage grass — engineered for UK farms and large-scale agricultural contractors.
What Is the 9YF Square Baler?
The 9YF-2200, 9YF-1900, and 9YF-1700 are mid-mounted, towed-type square balers purpose-built for collecting and compacting crop residues at high throughput. Operating across paddy fields and dry arable land alike, these square balers handle wheat straw, rice straw, cotton straw, corn straw, and a wide range of forage grasses with consistent density and tight rope knotting. Whether you run a mixed livestock operation in Yorkshire or manage contract baling across the East Midlands, these machines are designed to fit seamlessly into British harvesting schedules — cutting labour costs and storage complexity at the same time.
With picking widths spanning 1700 mm to 2200 mm and automatic rope baling as standard, the 9YF series meets the demands of both smaller family farms and large-scale UK agricultural contractors looking for a proven, high-density square baler with a strong serviceability record. The fork feeding mechanism minimises blockages during peak season, making it dependable during the critical “three autumns” harvest window when downtime is simply not an option.
Core Advantages at a Glance
Multi-Crop Capability
Handles wheat straw, rice straw, corn straw, cotton straw, and all types of forage grass — one machine, full-season flexibility.
D-Type Dual Knotters
Two precision D-type knotters deliver automatic rope baling with high reliability, reducing manual tying time and ensuring bale integrity during storage and transport.
Towed-Type, Wide Tractor Range
Compatible with tractors from 29.5 kW upwards. Easy three-point hitch connection suits most mid-range and large-frame UK farm tractors without modification.
High-Density Bale Output
460 x 360 mm compression chamber section produces compact, uniform bales that stack neatly in barns or on lorry flatbeds — ideal for livestock bedding and biomass supply chains across the UK.
Spring Tooth Picker for Gentle Pickup
The spring tooth picker structure lifts crop cleanly from the ground with minimal soil contamination — an important factor for silage quality and downstream animal feed value.
Flat-Ground & Paddy Field Ready
Optimised for flat, stone-free land with smooth results in both dry arable fields and previously flooded paddy conditions — proven across diverse British and international cropping systems.
How the 9YF Square Baler Works
As the baler is towed across a harvested field, the spring tooth picker rakes loose crop from windrows and directs it through the fork feeding mechanism into the compression chamber. The fork feeder’s positive, repetitive action reduces the chance of bridging or blockage — a common nuisance with older, auger-based designs — ensuring a steady, consistent flow of material even when working through wet or tangled straw.
Inside the 460 x 360 mm compression chamber, a reciprocating plunger compresses each charge of crop against the growing bale. When the bale reaches the pre-set length, the two D-type knotters activate simultaneously, looping and tying the rope automatically before the bale is ejected cleanly from the rear chute. The entire cycle repeats without operator input, freeing the tractor driver to focus entirely on ground coverage and field navigation.
Material choice in the frame and compression components is heavy-gauge structural steel, heat-treated at critical stress points. The result is a machine that maintains dimensional accuracy of the bale cross-section — critical for automated handling systems increasingly used by UK biomass and animal feed processors.
Produce clean, dense bales for cattle and sheep bedding or hay feeding across UK dairy and beef operations.
Consistent bale dimensions and high density support efficient transport to UK biomass plants and anaerobic digestion facilities.
Compact bales are the preferred format for straw merchants and mushroom substrate suppliers throughout England and Wales.
High throughput and low downtime make the 9YF ideal for UK agricultural contractors serving multiple farm clients in a single harvest window.

How farms and agri-businesses across the UK and beyond put the 9YF series to work
Lincolnshire Arable Contractor · UK · 2024
A Lincolnshire-based agricultural contracting business running over 4,000 acres of winter wheat and oil seed rape residues each season switched to the 9YF-2200 after struggling with knotter failures on an older European baler. The wider 2200 mm pick-up width allowed them to clear windrows in fewer passes, cutting fuel cost per bale by an estimated 12%. The dual D-type knotters have completed two full harvest seasons without a single mechanical stoppage attributed to the tying system. The firm now operates two 9YF-2200 units and supplies square bales to three regional biomass plants under contract, with bale dimensions meeting all buyer specification requirements without adjustment.
12% fuel saving per bale · Zero knotter stoppages over 2 seasons · 3 biomass supply contracts secured
“We run the 9YF-1900 across our Yorkshire dairy farm for straw baling every August. The auto-knotting saves us at least two hours of labour a day compared to what we were doing before, and the bales stack perfectly in our Dutch barn.”
Dairy Farm Manager · North Yorkshire, UK
“Sourced three 9YF-1700 units for our cooperative members in Cambridgeshire. The machines arrived well-crated, parts availability has been straightforward, and the technical support from the supplier has been prompt. Would recommend for anyone needing a cost-effective square baler in the UK market.”
Farm Machinery Cooperative · Cambridgeshire, UK
“We supply straw bales to three horse stud farms across Kent and Surrey. The 9YF-2200 gives us the throughput we need in a short harvest window. The density of bales is noticeably higher than our old machine — the studs specifically asked us to keep using it.”

Factory & Custom Engineering Capability
Our manufacturing facility operates across dedicated welding, machining, assembly, and quality-testing workshops, supported by CNC fabrication lines that maintain tight tolerance on all structural and drive components. The square baler product line benefits from in-house knotter assembly and calibration stations — the knotter being the component most closely scrutinised by buyers who have had bad experiences with lesser machines. Each unit is run through a full functional test cycle before dispatch.
Beyond standard models, we offer genuine product customisation capability that goes well beyond cosmetic changes. UK and European buyers have requested and received: modified pick-up rotor tooth patterns for specific crop types, alternative PTO shaft configurations, custom compression chamber lengths for non-standard bale size requirements, and OEM badging for machinery dealers. If your operation has a specification the standard 9YF series does not immediately address, our engineering team can work with you on a bespoke solution — minimum order requirements apply and vary by modification complexity. Contact us early in your procurement process to discuss lead times, since custom configurations have longer production schedules than stock units.

Our engineering team responds to UK and European enquiries within one business day.
